Did you know that at each beam connection there could be hundreds of bolts that need to be installed and tightened? Over the past several weeks, Brayman Construction has continued to install and verify the tightness of hundreds of thousands of bolt connections. They have also begun welding SIP angels and setting SIPs (stay-in-place forms) on Span 2 and installing the inspection walkway located in the interior of the beams.

STRAND JACKING

The 2 sides met with engineered precision to complete the structural steel superstructure from abutment 1 (Freeport Approach) to abutment 2 (Oakmont Approach).

Brayman Construction and Advantage Steel have continued erecting structural steel in Span 5 of the new Hulton Bridge. Erection of structural steel continues… Brayman and their sub, Advantage Steel, continue to receive structural steel from High Steel Structures in Williamsport, PA. Steel girders are delivered to the project on an almost daily basis as the structure inches closer to the Oakmont shore. CHANGE TO TIME FOR THIS EVENINGS HULTON BRIDGE CLOSURE

The closure of the existing Hulton Bridge scheduled for this evening has been delayed to address concerns of motorists. Originally scheduled for 6:00 PM this evening, the closure of the Hulton Bridge will not be put into place until 9:00 PM this evening.
